So does anyone else choke when trying to write in cards?

A couple of days ago, I was writing in a card and things were going pretty well.  Was saying what I wanted to say, and actually making sense.  My writing is horrendous, so I was printing and trying to do my best to make it look like the work of someone much older than six yet much younger than 106.

It actually looked kinda not horrible.  Not as pretty as this, but solid.

But then the pen started losing ink and things took a bad turn–letters with parts missing, lines of scattered shaky ink, overlapping words, the works.  And of course as soon as I started to choke, it only got worse.  Here’s a somewhat accurate representation of the writing. oh well.

The thing is, I think it’s amusingly terrible, so I went ahead and sent it anyway.  Never let embarrassment get in the way of hilarity…

Have you ever had someone detonate a small thermonuclear device in the middle of your life?  I mean a good 80 percent of your existence wiped clean off the map in one evening?

Yeah, that happened.  Nothing is ever going to be the same again.  Have to almost completely start over.  Not sure I have the energy or fortitude to do it.

Love, Actually…

I really wanted this piece of love at the end of my life.  Alas, it was nothing.

In the moment…

I feel very blessed to have been friends with you; you wise, funny, smart and lovely old soul.  : )

Will always be grateful for your calming influence when I started to get more than a little insane over politics and other silly things.  Thank you.  And thank you too for all the fun times talking about and sharing music.

Really sorry we never got to have that beer and bull session.  Hopefully our timing and location will work out a bit better next time around.

Wish I could be there in the too far north to celebrate your life with family and friends, but unfortunately, I’m a bit too far southwest.  Know I’m there in spirit though.  Love always…
